Austin, Texas, more than even Seattle, is THE place to be in a band. The home of the annual, citywide South by Southwest festival, if you're looking for inspiration you'll find it here. This is Murdocks' home, and by the sound of it they grew up on the wrong side of I-35, the highway that divides the city, and this debut EP is the sound of disenfranchisement. Raucous, shit-kicking rock is the order of the day, and if you've ever wondered what a Foo Fighters/Slade collaboration with Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong up front might sound like then here's the answer. Pretty damn good we say. Gillian Nash Logo Magazine |
